The turn of the year in particular can sometimes be associated with a lot of stress: Christmas shopping, festivities, completing important professional projects are just a few examples that can contribute to the hustle and bustle at the end of the year. At the start of the new year, many people therefore want a refreshed and fresh appearance. Thanks to modern aesthetic medicine, this can already be achieved with the gentlest possible methods. One of the new minimally invasive procedures at our skin center is treatment with the innovative Secret™ Pro. The device combines microneedling with radio frequency therapy (RF microneedling). It also has an additional handpiece forCO2 laser treatment. This combination makes it possible to reduce a variety of skin problems in one treatment and refine the skin’s appearance – for skin rejuvenation and skin resurfacing.
How does RF microneedling work?
Radiofrequency microneedling (RF microneedling) is one of the gentlest treatment methods and is becoming increasingly popular. This procedure combines two established treatments in order to increase the potential effect and achieve even, beautiful skin.
In classic microneedling, a special device with numerous small needles on its head is passed over the skin. These are repeatedly inserted into the skin, causing microscopic injuries. The body reacts to these injuries by initiating its repair and healing processes. Among other things, collagen formation and the formation of new cells are stimulated. As a result, the treatment area is rejuvenated, tightened and refreshed.
RF microneedling works according to the same principle, but the needles also emit radio frequency energy to the tissue. The radio frequency energy causes an increase in heat, which contracts and tightens the connective tissue. The heat also stimulates collagen formation. The effects achieved are therefore more intensive and show a natural rejuvenation from the inside out.
What is the purpose of fractionated CO2 treatment?
CO2 lasers have been used in aesthetic medicine for more than 20 years and are considered the gold standard in the treatment of various skin problems and signs of ageing such as wrinkles, scars, large pores or pigmentation and age spots. The procedure is therefore ideal for skin resurfacing, i.e. improving the skin structure.
In fractionalCO2 laser treatment, the energy is released in fractions. Microscopic “holes” are created evenly in the tissue. Between these tiny injuries are healthy “tissue bridges”. This rejuvenates and improves the entire skin area, as the body’s own renewal processes are set in motion. A faster rejuvenation and healing process starts from the undamaged tissue parts.
How exactly does it work?
The bundled light rays hit the surface of the skin and thousands of microscopic points of light are created. The laser energy ensures that the water in the tissue evaporates and the tissue is removed at precisely this point (ablation). Untreated, healthy skin bridges remain between the tiny treatment zones. These trigger a rapid healing process that rejuvenates and renews the entire treatment area. At the same time, collagen is built up deep in the epidermis, which also has a positive effect on the deep structure and firmness of the skin.
The advantages of fractional CO2 laser therapy include rapid healing, less pain and lower risks than with conventional laser procedures.
What is special about the Secret™ PRO combination?
The trend of combining different minimally invasive treatments to optimize the effects and results is not new. It is often advisable to combine individual small treatments in order to build up the skin structure in the long term and bring about natural rejuvenation. The advantage of Secret™ PRO is that the individual treatments take place in a single application and are combined with each other. The steps can therefore be precisely tailored to the treatment area and the desired result. The penetration depth of the needles and the effective range of theCO2 laser can be individually adjusted and thus adapted to the respective needs of the skin.
For which applications is treatment with Secret™ PRO suitable?
Can the treatment be repeated?
A session with Secret™ PRO lasts around 30 to 60 minutes. This depends, among other things, on the size of the treatment area, the reason for treatment and the desired result. To begin with, we usually recommend three to five treatments at intervals of four to six weeks. This renews the skin structure in depth and produces effective results of younger, more even and firmer skin. In order to maintain the results achieved in the long term, regular follow-up treatments are then recommended. The number and intervals may vary from person to person and are therefore discussed individually. An annual refresher is usually sufficient for younger skin, whereas a treatment every six months is recommended for significantly (photo)aged skin.
As the procedure is minimally invasive and hardly puts any strain on the body, the treatment can be repeated as often as required.
