When is treatment with SculpSure® an option?
SculpSure® is one of the most modern non-invasive solutions for removing unwanted fat cells. It is therefore particularly suitable for women and men who want to contour their body harmoniously but do not want to undergo surgery. The ideal candidate for a SculpSure® treatment maintains a healthy normal weight, but despite a balanced diet and sufficient exercise is unable to reduce individual, easily localized fat deposits.
Treatment with SculpSure® is generally not recommended for a BMI over 30. In these cases, you should first try to lose excess weight by exercising and changing your diet. If stubborn fat deposits remain despite normal weight, treatment with SculpSure® may be considered.
What contraindications can speak against treatment?
There are hardly any contraindications for treatment with SculpSure®. As the procedure does not require surgery or anesthesia, it is an extremely gentle, low-risk and pain-free method of fat reduction. With a BMI (body mass index) of 30 or more, however, the treatment procedure is generally not useful, as it cannot achieve the desired results in overweight people. SculpSure® is not a weight loss procedure, but is used solely for body contouring and optimization. The treatment is also not carried out on pregnant patients, as there are no specific studies and evidence that can guarantee that there are no risks in this case. In general, no procedures are performed during pregnancy that are not medically necessary.

SculpSure® in Berlin – how it works
First, the applicators of the SculpSure® laser are attached to the areas of the body to be treated. In contrast to cryolipolysis, no vacuum is required for this. Instead, straps fix the device heads to the body. Smaller areas can also be treated in a targeted manner.
The aim of laser lipolysis is to remove fat deposits that are perceived as unpleasant and can be easily localized. For this purpose, light-based energy is released into the fatty tissue. The fat cells are heated to a temperature of 42 to 47 degrees Celsius, while the surrounding tissue and skin remain unharmed. In addition, built-in cooling technology ensures that the skin surface is protected from burns. In addition to destroying the fat cells, the effect of heat has a second positive aspect: it stimulates the body’s own collagen and elastin production, which simultaneously tightens the treated area.
What happens to the fat cells?
After the approximately 25-minute treatment with SculpSure®, patients can immediately return to their normal daily routine. Within the next six to twelve weeks, the body reabsorbs the destroyed fat cells so that they disappear permanently. As the number of fat cells in an adult is genetically determined, no new fat cells can be formed. Only the size of the remaining fat cells can change. In our practice, we generally recommend two treatments with SculpSure® at intervals of around eight weeks. How many treatments are advisable in an individual case can vary from person to person and will be discussed in person.
Fit for the beach – when will the results be visible?
At the beginning of the spring season, people often decide to optimize their beach figure for the summer. If women and men want to “quickly” get rid of a few stubborn fat deposits for the coming bathing season, a SculpSure® treatment can be considered. The first results are usually visible after just six weeks. The final results of laser lipolysis can be seen after about twelve weeks. As the treatment areas should be protected from strong sunlight for four weeks at best, it is advisable to carry out the SculpSure® application in winter or early spring so that the harmonious body contours can be shown in summer. For optimal results, it may be necessary to repeat the treatment with the fat-away laser in some cases.
